There is no actual designation for different levels of scooters, but for the sake of this article, I’d like to explain the delineations I see in scooters. These are by no means industry standard divisions. These are just how I envision the various types and levels of scooters on the market today.

A folding, or “foldy”, scooter with adjustable handle bars is what I would consider, for the purposes of this article, a “level 1″ scooter. Level 1 scooters are the cheapest, most entry-level scooters that will work great for young kids just beginning to ride. All of the Razor A1, A2, A3, Spark, Graffiti, and B models, as well as most lesser-known brand folding scooters, are level 1 scooters. These scooters range in price from $19-$39.

A “level 2″ scooter would be a foldy scooter that you can modify to lock the folding mechanism. The Razor Pro model is one of the few scooters in this category. While some people have modified the level 1 scooters to lock them from folding, the metal in the folding mechanism really isn’t strong enough to support this kind of modification.

The Razor Pro model has a sturdy enough mechanism to support bolts to lock the folding mechanism. I refer to these modified Pro models as a “bolty pro”. The Razor Pro model is around $79. Scooters that have been designed without a folding mechanism or adjustable handle bars would be what I would consider a “level 3″ scooter. Scooters in this category are the Razor Ultra Pro, the Fuzion Elite, and the Madd Gear (MGP) Pro model. These are typically $99-$120.

Beyond the level 3 scooters are competition-level pro scooters, or what I’ll call “level 4″ scooters in this article. The reality is that some of the level 3 scooters are competition-level scooters, but they might require modifications before a rider would compete on them.

A level 4 scooter is one that either comes complete with competition-level parts or a scooter that has been custom built/assembled to be a competition-level pro scooter.

Electric mopeds, electric bicycles and gas powered scooters can reduce the use of gas and also play an important role in stopping climate change. Scooters are also a fun and safe way to travel.

If you care deeply about the environment but have to arrange your own mode of travel then either of these options would make an excellent choice.

You have to wear some protective gear when riding a scooter, as well as your passenger, because even though a scooter seems safe, even the smallest accident can prove fatal. So you always be careful and alert. And drive smart. And always, always wear the helmet.

Related Coverage

* Why Scooters and Mopeds Are Great For the Environment
Electric mopeds, electric bicycles and gas powered scooters can reduce the use of gas and climate change. They are also fun to ride
.
* Snazzy and yet environment friendly!
Ever seen a person riding a snazzy looking scooter that seems to make no noise? Not even the traditional whirring when accelerators are pulled up?? Ever seen a really old gentleman / lady in what looks like a wheelchair but moves without being pushed around?? Well, these are all examples of the latest pollution savers… the Electric scooter

Let’s discover the reason for the need of buying electric scooters for your vehicle:
* Motor Scooter Maintenance Tips
Just like you use preventive maintenance for your house or car, it is also beneficial for your scooter. By following the following scooter maintenance tips, you will have a reliable means of transportation that will last for years! Perhaps the most important item of maintenance is to regularly check the oil level and change the oil at frequent intervals.

Accidents can happen anytime and anywhere, so it is best to be prepared.

Scooters are cheaper to run, they use less fuel on average, they take up less space, are easier to park, less prone to severe congestion and more importantly they are better for the environment. One person commuting daily to work on a standard commuter bike uses less fossil fuel and produces far less CO2 and does far less damage to the climate than cars and SUVs. This is a proven fact.

If a pros and cons list is made, scooters would win hands down.If you use scooters for your business, say pizza delivery, it is still cost-effective and environmentally friendly to deploy scooters.

A large part of the motorcycle riding experience is the whole motorcycle show concept that often times will allow a person the chance to see other motorcycles and even if they want swap motorcycles. These shows are the centerpiece to a summer filled with heading down the open highway and experiencing a summer of seeing what other riders in the country are riding. No matter where you live, there is bound to be a show that is near you.

Many of these shows date back a while and allow a person the chance to experience a wide range of other riders in the country. Watch any of the television shows on the television and see all of the many shows that are traveled to in order to present a custom built motorcycle. This is just a small taste of the dozens of shows that are able to be enjoyed.

Depending on the time of year will determine the exact number of shows for you to choose from. One of the oldest is the Southern California Motorcycle show. This is one of the largest shows in the area, and a lot of times the showplace for professional builders as well as those just getting started.

Here you will see the largest display of motorcycles anywhere else on the planet. This is also a great place to see demonstrations on the many methods that are used in building a motorcycle.

Fell like something a little North, make you way to Michigan and see the largest collection of bikes anywhere every Friday night. Here you will see custom built bikes as well as factory standard bikes. There is also a swap here to allow you to own a new bike that you have never had the chance to ride. This is a must for any true lover of the motorcycle.

One of the easiest ways in order to find a show, is to use the Internet, this will help to yield plenty of results for a person to choose from when they are looking to attend a motorcycle show for the first time. This is often times one of the more complex things that a person will need to make sure that they research thoroughly before they head to a show for the first time.

The best advice would be to find a small motorcycle show near where you live, attend this show to get a feel of what all to expect when you head to one of the larger shows around the country. This is a big step that will go a long way in making sure that a person is not overwhelmed when they are attending one of the big shows.

America is easy to cross, with its vast system of highways. Motorcycles are fun vehicles, and seeing some of the country on one is truly an experience to remember. You can even camp along the way, stopping at places like Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon. While you are camping on a motorcycle, you can enjoy a sense of freedom nearly impossible to get anywhere else.

There are a multitude of campgrounds you can stop at too. Enjoy the benefits of a shower and maybe a swimming pool at some, or truly rough it at others, relying only on what you brought and what you can find. Of course, you will want something to sleep in. Motorcycle camping tents are a great way to keep warm if it gets chilly in the spring or fall. They are easy to pack up and store on your bike, so you can be ready to go in just minutes. Taking such a journey will probably mean venturing into unknown territory.

Choosing a motorcycle tent to fit your needs may be easier than you think. Several tent manufactures offer these specialty tents. Some riders are able to incorporate various styles and models of backpacking tents as well. When shopping for a tent that fits nicely onto your bike, it’s important to choose one that’s lightweight, compact in size, but is large enough for you and your gear. Catoma is a leading manufacture of motorcycle camping tents and offers several sizes to accommodate just about any situation.

Camping is not the only thing you can do on a motorcycle. There is no reason you cannot see major cities and iconic landmarks as well. Some people see cycling as a solitary activity. But there is no reason you cannot bring a friend with you. There are even clubs dedicated to motorcycles, where you can probably find a few willing members to accompany you on your journey. With how pricey gas is becoming, motorcycles are becoming more and more attractive. They are fun and exciting, easy to ride, and consume far less fuel than most cars. If you want to take a camping trip, or just see part of the country, motorcycles are the way to go. Go by yourself or with a friend, and see how much fun a motorcycle trip can be.

This is a great way to get them off the video games and outside for a change. It is an ideal method to cruise over to their friend’s house, use as an alternative to walking to and from school or just ride around the park. The Razor E100 electric scooter is fitted with a couple rechargeable batteries which can power the scooter up to a speed or around 10 miles per hour, which is enough for them to have lots of fun without being hazardous. The rear wheel is chain driven by a high torque electric motor.

How fast you wish to travel along at is controlled easily using the twist grip type throttle. One point to mention however is that in order to get going the rider must first push off from a standing start, much like a traditional push scooter, and once you are moving at about 3 mph you can then engage the electric motor using the trigger.

A fully charged scooter will allow your child to ride continuously for somewhere in the region of 40-45 minutes before it will need to be recharged once more. If while out and about on the scooter the battery does indeed run out of juice, you can still ride the scooter home by using it like a normal push and go model. Once plugged into the mains the charging time can be anything up to 8 hours.

Other features of interest are a handy and easy to operate folding mechanism that is good for storing the scooter when not in use, transport in the trunk of your car or for the kids to be able to jump on the bus or train without taking up too much space. So if this is your child’s first scooter the razor E100 could be the ideal choice.

On the other hand Razor also has huge range of other electric scooters for you to consider as well. The majority of them are similar to the E125 but with different sized motors, however they also have a selection of scooters that are fitted with seats. One of the popular seated models is the Razor E200S electric scooter.

The Razor E200S like other electric scooters has very good 24 volt motor and pushes the top end speed to about 12 miles per hour which is just a bit more than the E125. You still get to enjoy 40 minutes worth of riding time but the charging time can be slightly longer at 8-12 hours.

The ride is very comfy thanks to the well padded seat. One of the best features of the Razor E200s is that you are able to remove the seat. This gives the rider the option to ride around standing like you would on a normal scooter, so in effect you have 2 scooters in one giving you the best of both worlds. To ensure solid stability while riding with the seat installed the E200s comes with wider tyres. This scooter can support a rider who weighs up to 100 kg which means it’s not just for kids, adult can use them too.

These are just few of the top brands in the motorcycle industry today which are known for their excellently designed motorbikes and other automobiles. But buying a new part for replacement will be a costly affair so not many can afford. But there are number of online sources that are well established and are known for their used motorcycles parts from all of these top brands and also have facility to ship the used parts to any part of the world.

Used motor cycle parts can be purchased online from websites like eBay, Craigslist etc. It’s always more easy and reliable to buy the eBay motorcycles and parts are more trusted as they are in this filed from many years now. Craigslist is a site where people and providers who want to sell the used parts post advertisements and it’s solely dependent on the buyer to validate the product before purchase.

Apart form these websites some stores and individuals also post advertisements while selling their motorbikes. Some motorcycle dealers also sell used parts and they can also be good sources for used parts and some even offer repair and replacement services for parts and accessories purchased from their stores. So it’s an added advantage for buyers who have so not have much knowledge about the motorcycle parts and their replacement.

But while purchasing form online sources the buyers can only view the pictures of the product but cannot have hands on or cannot check the product so they need to be more careful and should only buy from a trust worthy source. While purchasing used parts from dealers or from used motorcycles sale the buyers have the option to check the quality and working condition of the part.

Some other sources of used motorcycle parts are the salvage dealers and stores who sell motorcycle accessories. Used parts of Harley Davidson motorbikes can be very hard to find and there are a number of local dealers who sell fake products which are exactly similar to the company made parts so the buyers need to be cautious while purchasing as the parts are very costly and some check parts for engine etc can even harm the bike.

If trying to buy the company made original parts the buyers can also find the dealers information on websites from parts locator search option on the company websites itself for the location and address of the company dealers. Some dealers and stores also publish advertisements yearly as used bikes for sale, second hand motorcycles for sale, cheap motorcycles, used motorcycle parts for sale etc. These can be the best deals as good quality parts can be purchased in such sales at very reasonable prices and these sales are conducted at almost every store in the nation.

Original equipment is one that is used in new branded motorcycles when you buy them from their original manufacturers. These are also called as stock accessories. They are not necessarily manufactured by their original manufacturers and companies get them manufactured and then install in new vehicles. An aftermarket motorcycle part is one that is available at the selves of the companies who manufacture these parts for the original motorcycle companies and they allowed them to sale out these parts. A custom motorcycle part can be manufactured by any person and there can be additions or removals in these parts as per requirements made by the motorcyclists.

The first way can be buying your motorcycle accessories from not other than your original motorcycle dealer. It may help you save a fraction of price for buying your motorcycle parts from your original motorcycle dealer because he will definitely value your visiting him again. He will get a new client and you will get a chance to buy your required motorcycle accessories at cheap rates. Take original documents of your vehicle with you when you go to your dealer for this shopping.

The second way to buy cheap motorcycle accessories is shopping them online. It’s good to visit different motorcycle parts manufacturers’ websites but before placing an order, visiting different comments available at top motorcycle forums, discussion boards and blogs will help you very much. Besides, price comparison and features of different motorcycle accessories, you will also know about many new things that will make you more clear about what to buy and where to buy from what you are looking for.

Higher authorities are another way to buy motorcycle parts at cheap rates. The reason is, they have motorcycles that are possessed by them for not being contacted by motorcyclists for a long time. The authorities put them at auctions and you can get them from there at very cheap rates. These motorcycles are so cheap that you can even buy a whole motorcycle and then can have your required motorcycle accessories with you and can save the other ones at relatively some profit.

One more way to buy cheap motorcycle accessories is to go for used parts. Not all used motorcycle accessories are bad. Some of them are really in very good condition and you can buy them at great price.
